I am excited to announce my upcoming performance at the Global Heat festival in Ymir, BC. This is the festival's second year after hosting numerous local parties. Over two days, 25 artists will perform amidst the jungles of Ymir at Global Heat.
I am thrilled to perform there as this marks my first gig in Canada, having previously played at the Capitol Theatre in April. At the theatre, there was a seated setup, and I performed for 30 minutes while the audience arrived, and another 30 minutes during the intermission. It was a unique experience, with occasional cheers from the crowd. The show was sold out, featuring about 10 acts including dancers, singers, and a percussionist. It was an entirely Indian cultural event, with everyone coming from the Nelson community. There were also samosas and other snacks served during the intermission, which I missed... haha. They even had me say a few words in Punjabi—it was a great gig.
For the Global heat event, I'm curating a playlist featuring tracks that highlight Indian instruments and popular Indian classics. Since I'll be performing at 7 pm on the first day, the set will serve as a gentle warm-up. Genre-wise, it will be a blend of bass, reggaeton, downtempo, and some Indian trap.
